Buffalo, NY, October 10, 2026 — A new memorial award has been established to honor the memory of Dylan DeLong, a Fredonia resident, father of three, and alumnus of Silver Creek. The award, officially named the Dylan DeLong Memorial Star Senior of the Game, was created to celebrate DeLong’s passion for football.
Dylan DeLong passed away following a car accident. The establishment of this award aims to keep his connection to the sport alive and recognize the achievements of student-athletes.
The Dylan DeLong Memorial Star Senior of the Game will be presented annually. Each year, during the Senior Night football game, a senior player from both competing teams will be honored with this award. This tradition intends to celebrate the dedication and spirit of senior players as they approach the culmination of their high school football careers, reflecting DeLong’s own enthusiasm for the game.
Details regarding the specific criteria for selecting the senior players or the formal commencement date for the award’s presentation were not immediately available.
