The framework is designed to help organizations identify trade fraud and shipment risk that can remain hidden when documents, identifiers, transactions, and shipment data are reviewed separately.

From document review to connected risk intelligence
A typical shipment may include a commercial invoice, packing list, waybill, shipping label, and barcode. Each document may appear accurate when reviewed independently, while inconsistencies become visible only when the information is compared across the shipment.
The YDelay framework is built around this principle: the problem is not simply reading the document; it is knowing whether the entire shipment tells a consistent story.
The framework’s five-stage intelligence pipeline is designed to:
Scan — Capture information from documents, shipping labels, integrated digital artifacts, and barcodes or QR codes.
Extract — Convert physical shipment information into usable digital data, including OCR text, decoded barcodes, document classifications, entities and identifiers.
Correlate — Compare information across related documents and against shipment history, validating identifiers, parties, price, weight, origin and route.
Detect — Identify duplicates, anomalies, outliers, document inconsistencies and suspicious patterns.
Decide — Produce an explainable risk score and support a defined action, such as “clear”, “verify”, “hold”, “investigate” or “escalate”.
This approach enables organizations to examine multiple risk indicators simultaneously rather than relying on a single document, rule or data point.

The framework can identify potential indicators including quantity mismatches, weight inconsistencies, duplicate tracking numbers, unusual origin or routing, behavior, value anomalies and HS-code classification inconsistencies.
An automated cross-document review identifies six independent signals, and produces a value- at-risk and high/critical-risk score, with a recommendation to hold the shipment for secondary review.
“The objective is not simply to flag a shipment, but to make the reasoning behind the decision visible,” added Arora. “YDelay’s approach is designed so that findings can be traced back to their source documents and supporting evidence, helping investigators understand why a shipment has been identified for review.”
Connecting the physical and digital worlds
The framework begins with a physical event—a document or a shipping label being scanned, or a digital artifact being processed, with no set data limits.
YDelay’s YD Risk Intelligence & Orchestration layer can connect information from customs systems, ERP and CRM platforms, warehouse systems, shipping and logistics systems, historical transactions, documents and images.
The underlying intelligence layer includes data integration, document intelligence, entity resolution, anomaly detection, cross-signal correlation, explainable risk scoring, investigation workflow and decision orchestration.
