The first 16-ounce mug brings the latest features to its new largest size, including on-mug temperature control, a top-rack dishwasher-safe design, and an included lid

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Ember Technologies, the global leader in temperature-controlled drinkware, added a 16-ounce size to its Mug 3 lineup today, just weeks after the third-generation smart mug launched in 10-ounce and 14-ounce versions. Ember customers have asked for a larger mug for years, and the new size delivers the largest capacity ever offered in the Ember Mug series. The 16-ounce capacity has previously only been available in Ember’s tumblers, including the recently launched Tumbler 2.

“A bigger Ember Mug has been on our customers’ wish lists for years,” said Matt Murray, CEO of Ember. “Customers who want a larger drink now have a choice between the 16-ounce Mug 3 for home and the office, or the recently announced Tumbler 2 for when they are on the go.”

Like the 10-ounce and 14-ounce models, the 16-ounce Mug 3 is designed for home and office use and lets users set the temperature either on the mug itself or through the accompanying Ember app. Owners press the power button at the bottom of the mug to cycle through five temperature settings in preset five-degree increments, from 125 to 145 degrees Fahrenheit.

Ember improved the materials and manufacturing process for all Mug 3 sizes, including the new 16-ounce size, to make it top-rack dishwasher-safe while maintaining the same stainless steel and an FDA-compliant, ceramic-reinforced exterior and interior coating as previous Ember mugs.  The 16-ounce Mug 3 also includes a sliding lid to help prevent spills and keep a drink at its ideal temperature for up to three hours on a single charge, giving users even more time to enjoy their coffee and tea.

The 16-ounce Mug 3 is available for $159 USD initially in black, with stainless steel and white arriving in November. It is now available at ember.com, at Target both online and in-store, and on Amazon.
