WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J., Nov. 04, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Manasquan Bank recently welcomed a delegation of approximately 30 Japanese banking professionals for an engaging discussion on community banking practices in Japan and the United States.
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the evolving banking industry, including lending practices, branch operations, regulator oversight, client experience, marketing strategies, cybersecurity, and the responsible use of emerging technologies.
The delegation shared insights into Japan’s network of approximately 250 “shinkin” banks, which focus on servicing local communities and small businesses. Discussions also explored how financial institutions in both countries are adapting to changing interest rate environments, evolving client needs, and advances in digital banking and the entire topic of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in a practical, ethical, and responsible manner.
“We were truly grateful for the opportunity to welcome colleagues from Japan and share perspectives on community banking,” said Jim Vaccaro, Chair, President, and CEO of Manasquan Bank. “The knowledge exchange was incredibly valuable, offering fresh insights into how banking practices differ across countries while reinforcing the common goal we share of serving our clients and communities.”
The visit underscored the value of international collaboration and knowledge sharing among financial institutions, offering both groups an opportunity to exchange ideas, compare approaches, and gain new perspective on the future of community banking.
